
The Wyoming Association of Special Districts will host its Annual Meeting and Public Officer Training on Feb. 27-28 in Casper, WY at the Ag Resources Learning Center. The Annual Meeting will be held on Feb. 27, with the Public Officer Training to be held on Feb. 28. Training will be concluded by 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.
The Annual Meeting will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 and will conclude by 5 p.m., or when all business is wrapped up. Agenda items for the day include reports from the President, Treasurer and Secretary; an update from the National Special Districts Association; review of by-laws changes that passed last year; election of officers; and a member forum to discuss legislation that has been discussed in the Wyoming House and Senate. There will also be an opportunity to discuss any other business members desire.
The Public Officer Training, set for Feb. 28, will begin at 9 a.m. and will conclude by 12:30 p.m. at the latest.

Registration is free, and an optional lunch is available for purchase on Friday following the Public Officer Training. All newly elected special district board members are required to complete a public officer training course prior to July 1 following their election, per Wyoming Statute.

Hi, Matt! Yes! This article was updated to include the items on the agenda for the meeting. The WASD will review last year’s meeting, receive reports from the president, treasurer and secretary, and hear from the National Special District’s Association. Additionally, last years’ by-laws changes will be reviewed, and officers will be elected. The special districts represented at the meeting will also select a director from their district type. Finally, a member forum will be held.
