WASD Training Program

Welcome to the Wyoming Association of Special District’s online training program.  This program is designed to help you become familiar with the laws and procedures involved in managing a special district.

There are five courses available, with each course divided into topics and sections.  You’ll need to complete all the content in each course to be certified as completing the training.  The training is free but requires registration for participation.

Step #1. Register for the Courses.

  1. Begin by registering as a WASD Course participant.  Registering allows you to track your progress and print certificates verifying that you’ve completed each course.  Click here to register as a Register as a WASD Training Participant or Login As an Existing User.
  2. Once you’ve registered as a participant, that registration information will allow you access to all five courses.

Step #2. Completing the Training

There is no required order to how you complete each course, lesson or topic.  But we suggest going in order to ensure you complete each step.

Click here to Access the WASD Course Offerings Page.

  1. Begin with Course #1 – Principal Acts and Purposes.  There is a lesson on each special district’s principal act and purpose.  You only need to complete the lesson related to your special district.  For example, weed and pest district supervisors and employees DO NOT need to complete the lesson on Housing Authorities.
  2. Once you’ve completed the lesson related to your special district, mark Course #1 as complete.  Then print your certificate of completion for your records.
  3. Complete the remaining Courses.  Now you can complete the remaining courses, including all the lessons and topics.  As you progress through the lessons and courses, be sure to click the green button at the bottom of each that says “Mark Complete.”  This indicates that you’ve read and understood the information, and will mark your progress in the course.
  4. Once you’ve completed all the lessons and topics in each course, and completed the associated quiz with a 100 percent, you may print your certificate of completion for your records. The quiz can be taken as many times as needed until you pass with a 100 percent.
  5. Complete all five courses to complete the training program.  Courses can be complete at your leisure and on your schedule.  Links to relevant documents have been provided, such as statutes or notice examples.
  6. You can return to any topic at any time if you need to review the information again.

Step #3. Track Your Progress

Once you register, our WASD training program software will track your progress through the program. You can access your User Training Profile here at any time.

Step #4. Verify Program Completion

After completing all five courses, you need to complete our self-certification form. This is a self-certifying form, verifying you’ve complete the courses and understood the information. These records will be reviewed and maintained by the WASD board for informational purposes.
